The brief

The shift towards e-mobility reached motorcycle manufacturers long ago. For a customer’s new e-scooter, the company was looking for capable support in developing the drive control. The particular challenge: because the scooter offered comparatively little installation space, every control function, including the battery management system and the indicator control, had to be integrated into the drive control.

The solution

Working closely with the customer, the NewTec team delivered a large part of the system development and requirements engineering for the integrated control unit. Planning and software development followed the AUTOSAR specifications and the ASIL D safety criteria to the letter. This made it possible, among other things, to ensure that the scooter’s rear axle never locked unexpectedly under any circumstances, and in particular not when cornering.
