The challenge
Batteries used in medicine need far greater reliability than those built into household appliances, for example. They also call for dependable, up-to-date information about the charge level and technical condition of the battery. The relevant medical standards must be met, and in some cases the battery must also be autoclavable, meaning it can withstand sterilisation in a gas-tight pressure vessel.
The solution
A NewTec team of battery management and medical specialists is happy to take on the entire system development. Our engineers develop the fail-safe hardware and software as well as the autoclavable housing. We pay particular attention to usability, for instance the design of the battery indicator, which should remain clearly legible under any operating conditions.
