The task

People with type 1 diabetes in particular often have to measure their blood glucose levels every few hours, especially when these change at short notice after certain activities, after stress or as a result of eating. A device worn on the body that determines the data non-invasively, captures it continuously and transmits it wirelessly can ease the medication and the lives of those affected and make them safer. Particular challenges here are fail-safe data transmission and the data security of personal information.

The solution

For medical technology producers who want to bring a blood glucose meter to market, for example one that can be worn on the body as a patch, we provide support in designing a miniaturised blood glucose meter. Our radio technology experts develop solutions for fail-safe transmission of the measurement data based on Bluetooth® technology. With a dedicated security solution we also ensure secure encryption of the personal data.
