The task
Barriers in car parks and at paid parking facilities are subject to particular safety and security requirements. For example, they may only close once it is certain that neither people nor vehicles are in the immediate area of the barrier. Barrier systems in publicly accessible areas should also be effectively protected against vandalism and attempted break-ins.
When payment data is transmitted or several barriers are networked, the reliability and security of the data transmission must also be guaranteed and the system protected against unauthorised tampering. Access security for banks and public authorities often calls for additional safeguards.
The solution
The NewTec team supports manufacturers throughout the entire development process. We advise you on the safety and security concept, for instance with a hazard and threat analysis as well as the definition and implementation of the safe state in the event of malfunctions. NewTec also offers suitable solutions for the sensor technology and for reliable capture, evaluation and transmission of sensor data.
Building on NTSafeDrive our engineers develop the electronics for safe drive control, which activates a brake, for example, if the system becomes inoperable or if vehicles or people are beneath the barrier. With our security expertise we also help you ensure reliable, tamper-proof data transmission for networked barrier and payment systems.
