Pfaffenhofen a. d. Roth, 5 November 2024. NewTec GmbH, a specialist in safety-related electronic systems, is presenting its new AI services at this year's SPS in Nuremberg. With this service offering, NewTec supports manufacturers and developers in clarifying whether and which AI technologies are suitable for integration into safety-related systems. At stand 159 in Hall 5, the company is also providing information on its extensive range of consulting services, engineering services and products for the development of electronic systems.

Integrating AI technology into control systems opens up new possibilities in automation, for example when it comes to increasing the availability and performance of machines. However, regulatory requirements must be observed in the process (keyword: EU AI Act). Special requirements must also be taken into account during development with regard to functional safety. While it is possible to state clearly whether conventional systems meet functional safety requirements, the performance of AI technologies can often only be verified statistically – with a corresponding variance.

In Nuremberg, NewTec is presenting its AI services, an offering that supports manufacturers and developers with AI integration, in particular in clarifying whether and how AI technology can be integrated safely. NewTec is supported by TÜV Rheinland in identifying potential critical AI failures, determining the accuracy and performance required to prevent failures, and analysing the risks associated with a potential failure.

At the NewTec stand, visitors can also find out about the company's further safety and security consulting services for the development of cyber-secure and functionally safe control systems. NewTec will also be providing information on the SafeFlex Development Kits, which significantly reduce development effort and shorten development time for industrial applications up to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3). The development kits are available for both FPGA-based and microcontroller-based designs.

Further information is available at the NewTec stand 159 in Hall 5.
