Pfaffenhofen a. d. Roth, 13 October 2026. NewTec GmbH, a specialist in safety-related electronic systems, is expanding its training programme and bringing it together in the new NewTec Academy. Manufacturers and developers can now access an extensive range of offerings for practical knowledge transfer. The training courses are based on NewTec's four decades of experience in developing safe electronic systems and make this knowledge available to customers in a targeted way – with clearly structured formats and the option to book training sessions at NewTec directly online, effective immediately.
Whether a new standard imposes requirements on an ongoing project, cybersecurity has to be incorporated into a development at short notice, or there is simply a lack of experience for a specific challenge – in such situations, targeted knowledge building is often the fastest way forward. This is exactly where NewTec Academy comes in: knowledge is transferred directly and sustainably into the company – concisely, practically and by trainers who not only have the necessary normative and regulatory expertise, but also experience from real development projects. Instead of having to buy in external expertise on an ongoing basis, companies can thus specifically expand the capabilities of their own development departments.
"Sustainable training creates more than new knowledge: it changes how people act," says Dr Axel Newe, Head of NewTec Academy. "That is what our training courses aim to do: they build understanding, foster confidence in action and provide participants with tools they can use in their day-to-day work over the long term. This is precisely where the added value of our training lies: with NewTec Academy, companies are not simply investing in training, but in the sustainable development of the people in their organisation."
In terms of content, NewTec Academy essentially covers three subject areas: safety – with training courses ranging from the fundamentals of functional safety to in-depth formats for hardware and software development; security – with courses on the fundamentals of cybersecurity, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA); and methods & technologies – for example on requirements engineering (including IREB® CPRE-FL), UML for embedded systems, Bluetooth® Low Energy and the railway protocol TRDP.
"Safety-critical development depends on the people who carry it out – from requirements management through testing to release. Standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 62443 require precisely defined competencies and role assignments, and without the right expertise among all stakeholders, this becomes a risk for the project and an obstacle in preparing for certification," says Stephan Strohmeier, Head of Safety & Security Solutions at NewTec. "With NewTec Academy, we are closing exactly this gap: in a targeted, practical way and where the knowledge is needed in the project."
There are three ways to access the training: available dates for training sessions at NewTec can now be booked directly online – ideal for individuals or smaller groups. For teams who would like exclusive training on their own premises, NewTec offers on-site training at the customer's location. If no topic in the existing programme fits, NewTec develops a tailored training course together with the customer.
The complete training programme and all current dates are now available at newtec.de/academy.
